Bitcoin Pop Index

Privacy Policy

bitcoinpopindex.com — the Bitcoin Popularity Index Effective date: 11 September 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Open Source FZ-LLC ("Open Source", "we", "us", "our"), a free-zone limited liability company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, collects, uses, stores and shares information when you visit or use bitcoinpopindex.com (the "Site"), subscribe to communications from the Site or from its associated publication, The Bitcoin Digest, or interact with our data products. It also explains the rights you have over that information.

We have written this policy to be read. If anything in it is unclear, write to privacy@bitcoinpopindex.com.

2. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is:

Open Source FZ-LLC Dubai, United Arab Emirates Email: privacy@bitcoinpopindex.com

The Bitcoin Digest is a publication operated by Open Source FZ-LLC. Where this policy refers to "our publications" it means the Site and The Bitcoin Digest together.

3. The nature of the Site and the data it publishes

The Site publishes the Bitcoin Popularity Index, a research index of Bitcoin search interest by country, region and city. The index is built from aggregate search-volume statistics obtained from Google Ads Keyword Planner and comparable third-party tools (including Semrush, DataForSEO, Yandex Wordstat, Baidu Index via Dragon Metrics, and Naver's advertising tools) and from public data sources.

These statistics are aggregate counts of how often terms are searched in a geography. They contain no personal data, are not linked to any identifiable person, and cannot be used by us or anyone else to identify a person. Nothing published on the Site is about an individual.

4. Information we collect

4.1 Information collected automatically

We do not set cookies and do not run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The Site does not use device fingerprinting, pixels, or any technology designed to follow you across sites or sessions.

Our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically record standard technical logs when a page is requested: the IP address of the requesting device, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page if any, and the browser and operating-system type. These logs exist to keep the Site running and secure — to detect abuse, diagnose faults and defend against attack. They are held by the provider for its standard retention period (typically no longer than 30 days), are not combined with any other information we hold, and are not used to identify, profile or contact anyone.

If we introduce any cookie or analytics tool in future, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before it is set.

4.2 Information you give us

Email address and related details. When you subscribe to a newsletter, request a report by email, join a waiting list, buy or request a data product, contact us, or submit a correction, we collect the email address you provide and any other details you choose to include, such as your name, your organisation, your message, and your stated preferences (for example which topics you want to receive).

Payment confirmations. Where the Site accepts payment for unlocked content, data plans or donations over the Bitcoin Lightning Network or in bitcoin, the payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation that a payment was made, its amount, its timestamp and a payment reference. We do not receive, request or store card numbers, bank details, government identification or any other financial-identity information, and a Lightning payment is not linked to an email address or any other personal identifier unless you choose to provide one (for example to receive a receipt or API key).

Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and for our records.

4.3 Information we do not collect

We do not collect or infer sensitive personal data (health, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation, biometric or genetic data), and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

6. How we share information

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose your email address or personal information to third parties for their own purposes. We do not share subscriber lists with advertisers, sponsors, data brokers or other publishers.

We share information only:

Aggregate statistics that identify no one (for example, the number of subscribers, or the index data itself) are not personal information and may be published or shared freely.

7. Google API Services

Where any feature of the Site or of our internal systems accesses Google API Services (including the Google Ads API used to retrieve aggregate Keyword Planner statistics), our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The information we retrieve through the Google Ads API consists of aggregate search-volume statistics for our own advertising account and contains no Google user data; we do not access, store or use any Google user's personal information.

8. International transfers

Open Source FZ-LLC is established in the United Arab Emirates. Our service providers may process information in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom or other countries. Where information about individuals in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred outside those areas, we rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision, and we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an equivalent level of protection.

9. How long we keep information

10. Security

We protect information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity: encrypted connections (TLS) to the Site, access to subscriber data limited to the people who need it, reputable providers with their own security programmes, and no storage of financial-identity data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires.

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-party sites

The Site links to other websites and services (data sources, exchanges, publications, payment providers). Their privacy practices are their own and this policy does not cover them.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always published at bitcoinpopindex.com/privacy. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will notify subscribers by email before it takes effect.
